Travel with us to New York City to visit the Guggenheim Museum for a final chance to see the acclaimed exhibition
Kandinsky. We will also have the wonderful opportunity to visit the private contemporary drawings collection.

The Associates Trip to San Francisco and the Napa Valley
During this 7-day adventure, we will explore the Bay area of California and the Napa Valley, rich with museums as well as private art collections, historic buildings, and artists’ studios. Our activities will include the California Academy of Sciences—recently reopened with a Renzo Piano designed expansion, the de Young Museum, a fine arts museum located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, and a tour of the Hess Collection, located at the distinguished Hess Vineyards in Napa.

The Associates Trip to The Noguchi Museum and Fisher Landau Center for Art
Join us as we travel to Long Island, New York to The Noguchi Museum. Created by Isamu Noguchi this unique Museum presents a comprehensive collection of the artist's works in stone, metal, wood, and clay, as well as models for public projects and gardens, dance sets, and Akari Light Sculptures. We will also enjoy a tour of the Fisher Landau Center for Art, which is devoted to the exhibition and study of the contemporary art collection of Emily Fisher Landau. The core of the 1,500 work collection spans 1960 to the present and contains key works by artists who have shaped the most significant art of the last 40 years, including Richard Artschwager, Jenny Holzer, Jasper Johns, Donald Judd, Sherrie Levine, Agnes Martin, Robert Rauschenberg, and Cy Twombly.

Chairman’s Council members are invited to a special day in Washington DC for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Kennedy Center and a visit to a private home to view an exceptional modern and contemporary art collection.

Chairman’s Council Trip to Boston and Cape Anne, Massachusetts
Travel with us to Boston as we visit area museums, historic buildings, private collections, and artists’ studios. We will also spend time in Cape Anne, a peninsula of land jutting into the Atlantic Ocean. Generations of artists have lived and worked in Cape Anne, including Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Stuart Davis, and Marsden Hartley.
Fall 2010
Chairman’s Council Trip to South Korea and Taiwan
Join us as we explore historic and contemporary sites and the spectacular scenery of South Korea. We will visit the Gyeongbok-gung Palace, Insa-dong Alley, The National Museum of Korea, the Silla dynastic capital of Gyeongju, and Beomeo-sa Temple. In Taipei the focus of our trip will be the National Palace Museum where we will explore in depth one of the world’s great collections of Chinese art and artifacts. In addition we will explore temples, and other sites of local interest.

The Associates Trip to the Netherlands
Highlights of an exciting trip to Holland will include wonderful collections of 17th century Dutch art as well as modern and contemporary Dutch design and architecture. The group will visit the beautiful cities of Amsterdam and The Hague, as well as the charming town of Delft.
As we plan for the future please let us know what sparks your interest! We are currently evaluating possible trips to Japan, Northern India, Montreal, Santa Fe, and Earthworks of the southwest.

Venice, Padua, and Trieste (Italy)

Associates and Chairman’s Council members are invited to explore a trio of Italian cities! First, the group travels to Venice for the Biennale 2009, the colorful Regatta in the Grand Canal, visits to Palladian Villas, and more. Then it’s off to Padua and Trieste to enjoy museums, villas, and archeological sites, spanning the centuries from the Roman Empire to Italy’s vibrant contemporary art scene.

Associates are invited to join Darielle Mason, the Museum’s Stella Kramrisch Curator of Indian and Himalayan Art, to explore the art, architecture, culture, food, and festivals of southern India. The beauty of the countryside serves as a backdrop for the art and architecture of the region.

Associates travel to Minneapolis, a city of buildings designed by world-renowned architects: the gleaming, Frank Gehry–designed Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota; the Herzog & de Meuron expansion of the Walker Art Center; and the Michael Graves addition to the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts. The trip features special tours highlighting the collections and architecture of superb area museums, plus exclusive access to private collections.

Johnson Collection, as he researches his 2010 exhibition, 15th Century Art in the Kingdom of Aragon. The tour includes the cities of Valencia, Zaragoza, and Barcelona and the island of Majorca with a focus on the treasures of gothic and Renaissance Spain.
